What Is Composite Decking Installation?
Composite decking installation is the construction of a deck surface using engineered boards made from wood fiber and recycled plastic, rather than solid lumber. It suits Wynnewood, PA homeowners who want a deck surface that resists fading, splintering, and rot without annual staining. Composite installation differs from wood in fastening method, expansion allowance, and support spacing, so it is worth choosing an installer who works with the specific product line you are considering rather than treating it like standard lumber.
Why This Matters for Your Home
Composite boards installed like wood, with the wrong fastener spacing or without proper expansion gaps, can buckle, gap unevenly, or void the manufacturer's warranty entirely. Some composite products also require closer joist spacing than wood to prevent sagging over time. Getting these specifications wrong does not just look bad, it can mean the material fails to perform the way it was designed to, undermining the entire reason for choosing composite in the first place.
Our Process
Confirm framing spec for the product
Different composite lines require different joist spacing, so we confirm the framing plan matches your chosen product's specifications before installation.
Install with hidden fastening systems
Most composite decking uses hidden clip systems rather than visible screws, which we install per manufacturer instructions for a clean, consistent surface.
Set correct expansion gaps
Composite boards expand and contract with temperature, so gaps between boards and at fixed objects are set to the manufacturer's exact tolerance.
Finish trim and fascia
Edge boards and fascia are installed to hide the structural frame and give the deck a finished, manufactured look.
What to Expect
Once your composite product is selected, we order materials and confirm lead times, since some colors and profiles are made to order. Installation itself moves efficiently since composite boards are uniform in size, and most residential composite decks in Wynnewood, PA are installed within a week once framing is complete. You will receive manufacturer warranty documentation as part of the handoff, along with basic care guidance, which for composite is minimal compared to wood.
